Wellington man's shameful admission, “I drank the same craft beer two times in a row”

“I just wasn’t thinking, it was bloody stupid”

What would seem like normal behavior for most punters having a few drinks after work turned into a travesty for the Wellington drinking elite last Wednesday evening.  A young man's world was turned upside down at a local craft beer bar when he unknowingly ordered the same beer twice after he had finished his first helping. Surely a setback for a city that prides itself on its adventurous craft beer drinking habits.  

With so many bars and so much choice the fear of missing out (FOMO) on something new to drink has hamstrung any patron just willing to carry on with drinking something rather pleasant even if it is the same beer.   “My mates were giving me so much shit, it was really embarrassing” says the man who wishes to remain unknown.

Untapped, a focus group beer drinking app for brewers unsure of what to produce next have also voiced their disapproval by awarding the drinker with a special one off “Ctrl C Ctrl V” badge. Untapped’s founder Greg Avola saying, “We really need to discourage this kind of behavior, I’m pretty disgusted”

The man has promised to never practice this behaviour again and says he will always order a different beer every time from now on even if the other offerings on tap are sub par.  He also lays blame at the bar person who served him as well saying, “Isn’t it their job to stop this kind of thing happening? I won’t be drinking there again that’s for sure”
