Big beer board members have been recalled to emergency meetings in Auckland today in reaction to an image showing who is a New Zealand independent brewery and who is not.

Dominion Breweries CEO Sean O’Donnell said it was very concerning that the public might find out that they owned former independent breweries, “We paid too much money for Tuatara and this is potentially very embarrassing for us” said O’Donnell. “It was also a surprise to me that we did not own Waikato Draft, it even tastes like DB Draft” he continued.

Meanwhile the independent brewery fanboys have been lauding The Beer Library’s Photoshop image as a modern masterpiece of visual rebellion. Luke Nicholas of Epic Brewing chiming in with “Nice work. Thanks for taking the time to put this together” and Beer Enthusiast Graeme Lock describing the image as “Interesting”

TMTB received the following statement after approaching Mitsubishi for comment regarding their stable of logos: “We here at Mitsubishi Motors are committed to great logo procurement and we feel that we have made some very good choices with our recent acquisitions especially Panface”

The Beer Library were unapologetic when it came to exposing their version of the truth, and said confusing people was their main goal anyway. “By putting stainless steel owner operated breweries in the same box as contract and label making breweries it made it look like we had way more independent breweries than big beer had”
