Behemoth sales triple after Hosking ‘un-doresment’
Broadcasting hero and all round good guy Mike Hosking knows what he does & does not like.
Auckland’s Behemoth Brewing is rushing to meet demand after Mike Hosking declared, “I’m not a fan”. Last week Hosking tasted Behemoth’s milk stout for a Seven Sharp segment previewing the weekend’s GABS beer festival at the ASB showgrounds. “Hosking is one of the most influential consumers in New Zealand,” said Behemoth brewer Andrew Childs. “People are prepared to go to great efforts to avoid him and everything he stands for, so the un-doresment from Mike Hosking has caused a rush on our sales.”
Hosking’s unusually polarsing comments caused supermarket sales to triple over the weekend, leaving shelves bare from Waiheke Island to Bluff. “If it’s not good enough for Hosking, it’s good enough for me, what would a guy know who has hair like a new born calf’s pelt know anyway” Behemoth fan Kim told TMTB at Four Square Remuera this morning.
“This is a real opportunity and we have to work fast to make the most of it”, Childs said. “We’re going to brew a tribute beer that’s extra bitter to thank dear old Mike and because we believe in sharing the lack of love too. We’ll brew a collaboration with Taranaki’s Mike’s Beer to celebrate. Look out for Behemoth Mike’s Extra Bitter in our famous big-mouth cans soon.”
